British Museum Sound And Moving Image Archive
Back in December 2019 we were contacted by James from what used to be called the national sound archive, he said "I’ve been checking out your Bandcamp pages (& website) and see you are putting out some really great & interesting music. Sadly we don’t have anything of yours in the national collection. It would be very good to change that if possible". so of course we agreed and there are now 32 of our albums archived. This has made us very happy and even though we'll never be anything other than a relatively obscure underground duo, we're proud to be archived. Many thanks to James at the British Museum.

We now have 2020, an album recorded in the traditional method, mostly live with minimal overdubs and released on 17th March, 2020. They're all over on our albums & eps page. They're all on bandcamp and we've set it up so you can listen for free or send a small donation.

30th June 2017. Google translation of Russian review: from R.A.I.G.
What else interesting from the novelties of the British musical underground this summer? Listen, for example, to the new album of the instrumental experimental rock band INFORMED SPECULATORS from English Bristol.
With the creativity of the duo Sean Henneberry and Dave Hares, I met only last year. Although under the name INFORMED SPECULATORS, this tandem of veterans of the Bristol underground scene has been functioning since the beginning of the 80s (as there are still many "dark spots" on the world map of modern music!). The band's debut epic album was released in 1995. Among the other well-known LP and EP recordings are albums: "Quoi pas de Francais?" (2002), "Pure" (2011), "Wax" (2012), "Wave" (2012), "The Day After The World Ended" (2012), "Particles" (2012), "Funk" (2013), "IS9" (2013), "When We Wake We Can Be Quiet" (2015), "The Devil's Pulpit" (2016) and released this summer "Holiday" (2017).
The new 39-minute album includes 9 instrumental pieces - "improvisational musical compositions", as the authors call them. Recorded material in the home studios of musicians. Dave Hares plays various electric guitars (Fender Stratocaster, Dean Jazz Stylist and Harley Benton), Sean Henneberry uses a dynamic percussion synthesizer (Korg).
In fact, INFORMED SPECULATORS create "hybrid" or "off-genre" instrumental music, interweaving a lot of influences from the academic avant-garde and ambient drones, to experiment-avant-prog, jazz fusion, kraut-rock, heavy psychedelia, face-age etc.
"Holiday" - the album is not conceptual, but thematically motivated. Each play is a concrete sketch-sketch "from the life of vacationers." Most of the rooms are structurally and rhythmically decorated (among the most successful "formalized" things I will mention "Perfect Furlough", "Sabbatical", "Luxury Bargain Farm", "Camping Tour Voyage"), although the improvisational beginning in duet music is quite strong (the final 10 -minute play "Day Of Observance" - not only the longest, but the most improvisational number of the album). The degree of improvisation of music is largely determined by the technology itself of its creation: the duo is recorded both in the mode of "live" performance, and through remote file exchange.
With all the experimental and avant-garde creative thinking of the authors, "Holiday" - the album is quite positive and listenable, perfectly perceived both in the background listening mode, and with a complete audiophile immersion. For fans of music subspecies, defined by musicologists as "modern-kriytev" and "experimental-cinematics", it is recommended first of all.
